This concert will present the most famous piano compositions performed by young and talented pianists from all over the world. Every year, there are ever greater numbers of applicants to take part in the Paderewski Piano Academy. Selected young virtuoso musicians from Europe, Asia and America will be performing to the accompaniment of the Toruń Symphony Orchestra at rehearsals and during four concerts: in Chełmża, Chełmno, Toruń, and Bydgoszcz. The jury of this year’s edition of the Academy is composed of four eminent piano professors from Germany, Russia, and Hungary: Andrey Shibko, Tamás Ungár, Jan Jiracek von Arnim and Francisco J. Cruz Plaza. The Toruń concert will take place in the Great Hall of the Artus Court. The programme will include performances by qualified young pianists of selected parts of piano concertos by Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Mendelssohn, Schumann, Grieg, Saint-Saëns, Brahms, Tschaikovski, and Rachmaninov to the accompaniment of the Toruń Symphony Orchestra conducted by Jakub Chrenowicz. The detailed programme will only be established the day before the concert together with the selection of the participants qualified to perform, but we can be sure that their excellent interpretations of musical pieces for piano will fill the air with intense emotion!
