Founded in 2009 in Finland, ENSEMBLE NYLANDIA specialises in performing early music. The idea behind the ensemble’s philosophy is to refresh the rules of performing early and baroque music through the cooperation with musicians who are fully devoted and involved in the process of performing music. Among the elements used by the ensemble are improvisation and the use of electronics. The Finns will present an eclectic programme to the audience of Toruń, composed of songs ranging from the Middle Ages to the 18th century. They are all bound by improvised interludes for an unusual line-up: soprano, tenor, harpsichord, bassoon … and electronics.
