This concert is going to take us on a musical journey across Poland and its history, since the programme will include compositions by Wieniawski, Moniuszko, Paderewski, Bacewicz, Ogiński (his memorable Polonaise ‘Farewell to the Motherland’, and, quite obviously, Chopin. In the final part of this Polish music concert we shall listen to a suite of film themes by W. Kilar. These musical gems will be played by our guests from Silesia: the pianist Wojciech Waleczek, a graduate of the Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, and the ACOUSTIC QUARTET, a group of musicians from the Aukso Chamber Music Orchestra of Tychy (also graduates of the Academy).

For over twenty years already, Wojciech Waleczek has played a number of concerts (piano recitals as well as symphonic and chamber music concerts) in 21 countries of the EU, Switzerland, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Moldova, Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Jordan, Palestine, Algeria, Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Tunisia, Canada, Japan, Argentina, and the USA. In addition to his artistic work, he is also an accomplished academic and works as associate professor in the Institute of Music of the University of Silesia.
