As the title of the concert indicates, we will begin our musical journey by following in the footsteps of Orpheus wandering around Tartarus in search of Eurydice, and end up among the stars, succumbing to the expressive suite from the Star Wars. Between these extremes, the artists will present a set of compositions that exhibit rhythm and dance. From a jazzy Take 5, through the musical overture by G. G. Gershwin, to Dixieland pulse. The highlight of the programme will be Liszt’s Piano Concerto No. 1, which will be performed for us by 16-year old Rune Leicht Lund. In his home Denmark, the young pianist has been dubbed a ‘child prodigy’.  The fact that Liszt, when composing his Piano Concerto No. 1, was not much older than the Danish soloist adds further spice to this performance.
