This year’s edition of the festival will also include performances by American artists. To this category belongs the soprano singer Karen Slack, who has had many occasions to perform in concert halls and operas with some of the best conductors and orchestras in the world. Among her most important roles one has to mention the titular role in Puccini’s Tosca, Leonora in Verdi’s The Troubadour and Violetta in La Traviata. The artist will also sing a recital before the final concert of the festival, which will be an occasion to admire her great versatile talent.

The Thursday concert of Karen Slack to be held in the Great Hall of the Old Town Hall will present a selection of musical pieces from various historical periods and styles, which means that the programme will be attractive to all lovers of good music.

Accompanied by the pianist Bartłomiej Wezner, she will perform a selection of songs by Ravel, Brahms and Barber, various compositions in blues and gospel music arrangements, the memorable Summertime and I Got Rhythm by Gershwin as well as the most cherished musical pieces by the great master of swing and jazz Duke Ellington: It Don’t Mean A Thing and Don’t Get Around Much Anymore
