Ladies and Gentlemen,

It gives me great pleasure to invite you to another series of musical events that are part of this summer’s music festival “Nova – Music and Architecture”. During the upcoming 23rd edition of those special musical festivities, a wonderfully wide gamut of artistic offerings will fill both the historical and modern architectural spaces of Toruń. We will present musical works from many historical periods representing varied musical styles. There will be works of great lyricism and drama as well as compositions of lighter and more popular character. You will have a chance to experience sounds of full symphony orchestra or choruses as well as chamber ensembles and vocal and instrumental soloists.

Toruń Symphony Orchestra that organizes the festival,  has invited distinguished artists from around the world. We will present special programs for children and entire families, intimate evenings of organ music, chamber music as well as concerts featuring vocal repertoire and symphonic masterpieces. I am sure that each and every of the presented programs will contribute something memorable and inspiring making Toruń a special artistic destination this summer.

I believe that the rich artistic offerings of this year presentation make the Toruń festival one of the most interesting and ambitious events of that type in Poland. It is my hope that experiencing music known as well as unknown in the architectural beauty of our city will create memories to be cherished both for local residents and entire families as well as our guests.

Mariusz Smolij
Artistic Director of the Festival
