Additional Information
Architectural Accessibility
The Toruń Symphony Orchestra is located in the Cultural and Congress Center Jordanki, situated at Al. Solidarności 1-3 in Toruń. During each event held at the Center, the Audience Service team is available to assist you, providing any information you may need and helping you find and reach specific locations in the auditorium or foyer. The audience service staff is present at the Center at least one hour before the event.
- Description of Accessibility for Entering the Building and Passing Through Control Areas
There are several independent entrances to the building. The main entrance is located on the side of Al. Solidarności and is at ground level, allowing access without the need to navigate stairs. Entry to events is also possible from the underground parking level via a convenient elevator.
On the left side of the building (from the direction of the Marshal's Office), there is an entrance to the restaurant, followed by the entrance to the Center's reception. The entrances are free of architectural barriers.
Access to the Conference Rooms located on level +1 is available via stairs or a spacious elevator.
Entry to CKK Jordanki outside of event hours is possible through the reception.
Restrooms for individuals with special needs are available on every level of the foyer and have been adapted to ensure users can access them comfortably. The entrances to the restrooms are appropriately marked. Additionally, a call system integrated with the Building Management System has been installed in the restrooms. Accessible restrooms are also located in the administrative section of the building, near the Conference Rooms, and in the backstage area (dressing rooms).
- Description of the accessibility of corridors, stairs, and elevators
The CKK Jordanki building is excellently adapted to the needs of individuals with special requirements. Horizontal communication takes place along long and wide corridors, allowing for comfortable and safe movement. Vertical communication between all levels of the Center (from -2 to +1) is supported by appropriately sized elevators equipped with a voice announcement system. Control elements in the elevators are installed in a way that ensures easy access. Operation is facilitated by raised buttons with numbering additionally marked in Braille. There are four elevators in CKK Jordanki.
During most events, the elevator connecting the underground parking and the foyer spaces is operated by a staff member from the Audience Service.
- Description of adaptations, e.g., ramps, platforms, audio information, induction loops
In the first and last rows of the Concert Hall, there are designated spaces where a wheelchair can be comfortably placed. Participation of individuals with mobility impairments is also possible in the Chamber Hall, Rehearsal Room, Press Room, and Conference Room complex.
Additionally, at CKK Jordanki, a mobile hearing assistance system with an induction loop is available, dedicated to the Concert Hall and Chamber Hall (or connected halls). There are 10 devices available for guests.
The hearing assistance system with an induction loop (induction phonics) allows a hearing-impaired person to receive crystal clear and distinct sound through the telephone coil, which is equipped in almost every hearing aid.
The hearing assistance system with an induction loop consists of an amplifier properly installed in the room. A sound source, such as a microphone or the hall's sound system, is connected to the amplifier. The amplifier generates a variable magnetic field, which is received by the telephone coil of the hearing aid.
When the hearing aid is switched from microphone mode to the telephone coil, the coil picks up the variable magnetic field and converts it back into an electrical signal. The signal from the coil is appropriately amplified and adjusted to the hearing loss by the hearing aid. This allows the hearing aid user to enjoy a clear, useful signal without any external interference or distortion.
- Information about the location and usage of parking spaces designated for individuals with special needs
At CKK Jordanki, we have a 24-hour paid underground parking facility with 185 parking spaces, of which 5 are designated for individuals with disabilities.
There is the possibility of entry for vehicles equipped with LPG systems.
Entry/exit is from the direction of Al. Solidarności. Additionally, in front of the main entrance to the Center, along Al. Solidarności, there are 3 free and publicly accessible "Kiss and Ride" parking spaces..
