Architectural Accessibility

The main office of the Toruń Symphony Orchestra is at the Jordanki Cultural and Congress Centre, situated at 1-3 Al. Solidarności St. in Toruń.

During all events held at the Centre, our Spectator Service is available to assist you with any information you require, and guide you to specific locations within the auditorium or foyer. The Spectator Service staff are present at the Centre at least one hour before each event.

  • Description of Accessibility for Entering the Building and Passing Through Control Areas

The CKK Jordanki building provides multiple independent entrances, ensuring easy access for visitors. The main entrance, located on the ground level from Al. Solidarności St., does not require climbing stairs. Access to events is also possible from the underground car park via a convenient elevator.

On the left side of the building (from the side of the Marshal Office), there is an entrance to the restaurant, followed by the entrance to the Centre’s reception.  All entrances are free of architectural barriers.

For accessing the Conference Room Complex on level +1, visitors can use either stairs or a spacious lift.

Outside event hours, entry to CKK Jordanki is possible through the reception area.

Disabled-accessible toilets are available on each level of the foyer and have been properly marked for identification. The toilets are equipped with a call system integrated with the Building Management System. Additionally, toilets adapted for disabled individuals are located in the administrative part of the building, near the Conference Hall Complex and backstage areas (dressing rooms).

  • Description of Accessibility for Corridors, Stairs and Lifts

The CKK Jordanki building is well-equipped to meet the needs of disabled individuals.  It features long and wide corridors that facilitate comfortable and safe passage throughout the facility. Vertical access between all levels (-2 to +1) is facilitated by appropriately sized lifts equipped with a voice announcement system. The lift controls are designed for easy access, featuring convex buttons with numbering and Braille markings for added convenience. CKK Jordanki has a total of four lifts.

During most events, a Spectator Services employee operates the lift that connects the underground car park and the foyer area.

  • Description of Adaptations, Such as Ramps, Platforms, Voice Information, Induction Loops

The CKK Jordanki ensures convenient placement of wheelchairs in the front and back rows of the concert halls, allowing individuals with physical disabilities to participate comfortably. Furthermore, people with physical disabilities can also access the Chamber Hall, Rehearsal Hall, Press Room, and Conference Room Complex.

To support individuals with hearing loss, the CKK Jordanki provides a mobile hearing aid support system with an induction loop, specifically designed for the Concert Hall and Chamber Hall (or combined Halls). There are 10 devices available for guests.

This system allows hearing aid users to receive clear, high-quality sound through the telecoil present in most hearing aids.

The system consists of a properly installed amplifier in the room, connected to a sound source such as a microphone or the hall’s sound system. The amplifier produces an alternating magnetic field that is picked up by the telecoil of the hearing aid.

When the hearing aid is switched from a microphone to a telecoil, the telecoil picks up the alternating magnetic field and converts it back to an electrical signal. The signal from the coil is appropriately amplified and matched to the hearing loss by the hearing aid. This allows the hearing aid user to enjoy a clear and distortion-free listening experience.

  •  Information on Where and How to use Parking Spaces Designated for Persons with Disabilities

Vehicles equipped with an LPG system are also allowed.
The entrance and exit to the parking lot are located on Al. Solidarności St. Additionally, along Al. Solidarności St., in front of the main entrance, there are 3 free and public ‘Kiss and ride’ parking spaces.
